Language
Language is one of the most substantial features which distinguishes Man from the rest of the animal kingdom. And so much of what is done on computers is symbolic in nature, and yet machines are profoundly bad at handling language. Why is that? And how are the languages of the world similar, and what sort of deep representation underlies the blurbs we bander back and forth?
